I am a wedding photographer. There it is, in black and white. It’s not that I mind being a wedding photographer. It’s just that if I see it there on the page, I have to admit everything that I’m not. Not a crusading photojournalist. Not a portraitist to the stars. Not on assignment for National Geographic, or traveling to distant places to document the miseries of the worlds unfortunates. I shoot weddings, and on almost any given weekend I can be found in the high stress world of heightened emotions, familial tension, exaggerated expectations, and mood softening medications that surround this ancient and fraught ritual.

From Exposed: Confessions of a Wedding Photographer

That’s how it is, I’m a wedding photographer, and Exposed is the story of my life in the crazy world of brides with entitlement issues, the mothers who reared them, grooms who seduce bridesmaids, ring bearing dogs, brides who change their minds, pass out, or dance on tables in tiaras, and the occasional couple who is truly in love. It’s the account of my adventures in a career I never saw myself living and of how I managed to fall in love and have a wedding of my own.
